Spin-Guard Introduces Patent-Pending Retrofit Security Fastener System

Spin-Guard LLC has launched a patent-pending retrofit system that converts any standard hex-head bolt into a tamper-resistant fastener without replacing the bolt.

How It Works: A free-spinning stainless steel outer shell prevents access to the bolt with sockets or gripping tools like pliers, universal sockets, or monkey wrenches, while an independent bushing carries all installation torque, giving Spin-Guard higher torque capacity than most conventional security screws. A unique access tool allows the bolt to be installed and removed. That higher torque capacity also lets Spin-Guard cover larger bolt sizes, filling a gap in the security fastener market.

The distributor advantage is straightforward: one Spin-Guard SKU per bolt diameter replaces dozens of SKUs across bolt length, thread type, and finish, simplifying inventory while making it easy to add security to existing installations.

Target markets include utilities, municipalities, solar installations, parks and recreation, correctional facilities, and other commercial infrastructure. Spin-Guard is available now in 1/4″, 3/8″, 1/2″, and 12mm, with more sizes in development. All components are corrosion-resistant stainless steel with a lifetime warranty against corrosion and manufacturing defects.
