WIFI (Women in the Fastener Industry) Announces Ann Bisgyer Wolz Scholarship Winner
Tammy Schuman, senior inventory planner for Stock’d Supply, a division of Blackhawk Industrial, is this year’s winner of the Ann Bisgyer Wolz Scholarship. Tammy will receive tuition money to be used at the Fastener Training Institute for in-class training to become a certified training specialist. Congratulations, Tammy!
WIFI honors the memory of Ann Bisgyer Wolz, co-publisher of Fastener Industry News. She first worked in the fastener industry during high school for her stepfather, Eric Cohn, at Allied International. She later entered the trade show industry in New York City and returned to fasteners when she and spouse John Wolz acquired Fastener Industry News in 1994, when they shared co-publisher title.
“First, thank you for selecting me for this year’s Ann Bisgyer Wolz Fastener Training Institute scholarship,” Tammy said. “I am so excited to attend the classes and expand my fastener knowledge. This scholarship has made me address a few things I dislike—talking about myself, writing essays, and photographs. However, I love learning, so winning the scholarship has made it all worth it. I look forward to learning all I can from the Fastener Training Institute in December and becoming a more knowledgeable fastener woman.”
