Successful Premiere of New Trade Fairs in Cairo

Messe Düsseldorf’s new satellite trade fairs, wire, Tube, Middle East Africa, GIFA and METEC Middle East Africa, had a successful first staging as a special area of METAL & STEEL EGYPT from September 2–4, 2023, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in Cairo.

The regions of Egypt, the Middle East and North Africa offered many first-time exhibitors the opportunity to invest in these growth markets, and a total of 383 exhibitors from 19 countries presented their technologies. In addition to companies from Egypt, foreign exhibitors came from countries such as the UK, France, Austria, Belgium, Turkey, Spain, Switzerland, Morocco, the U.S. and Germany.

The Egyptian trade fair organizer AGEX (Arabian German Exhibitions & Publishing Ltd) has been organizing its METAL & STEEL EGYPT trade fair since 2010. The cooperation with Messe Düsseldorf results in valuable synergies for all sectors involved.

The attendees’ interest was noticeable in the exhibition halls right from the start of the trade fairs. Over 7,000 professionals (about 10% international) traveled to Cairo to network and get information about trends and innovations from the industries and to discover the latest machinery, equipment, products and services from the metal and steel, wire, cable, tube, foundry and metallurgy sectors.

The next concurrent staging of the five trade fair will take place in the first half of 2025, again in Cairo. Exact dates will be determined together with the regional organizer and taking the other satellite events in Messe Düsseldorf’ s metal trade fair portfolio into consideration.
