Get Your Certified Fastener Specialist™ Designation at Your Own Pace
Become a Certified Fastener Specialist™ (CFS) with Fastener Training Institute’s series of one-day classes and plant tours. Students who pursue a CFS with these individual classes have the flexibility to spread training out over time. After completion, students are eligible to test for CFS designation.

FTI has solidified 2025 CFS class dates and is ready to start building student rosters.
- May 1: Fastener Specifications and Terminology (CFS 1), Los Angeles, CA
- July 15: Understanding the Bolted Joint (CFS 2), San Diego, CA
- August 12: Dimensional and Material Specifications (CFS 3), Los Angeles, CA
- October 9: Fastener Quality Assurance and Print Reading & Inspection (CFS 4), Los Angeles, CA
- December 10: Fastener Manufacturing, Secondary Process Plant and Quality Lab Tours (CFS 5, 6 & 7), Los Angeles, CA
The cost to attend is $549 per class. NFDA, IFI, MWFA, NCFA and SFA receive a discounted rate of $449 per class. Pac-West members can attend for $429 by using a Pac-West coupon code. All rates increase by $100 two weeks prior to each class.
Subject to availability, CFS graduates can take advantage of refresher courses by registering for any CFS class at a 50% discounted rate. Contact Jo Morris for availability.
